Return Policy

General return requirements

To be eligible for a return or exchange, all merchandise must:

  • Be unused and in original condition
  • Have original tags attached
  • Be in its original packaging
  • Include a receipt (or be located in our system)

Items that are used, opened, or missing tags/packaging cannot be returned or exchanged.


Returns within 30 days – refund to original payment method

Unused items may be returned or exchanged within 30 days of purchase for a full refund.

  • A receipt is required. No returns can be processed without a receipt.
  • Refunds will be issued to the original form of payment.
  • Check purchases will be refunded as a Babycakes gift card, not cash.
  • All shipping charges are non-refundable.

Returns within 60 days – store credit

Unused items purchased within 60 days may be returned for store credit only, issued at the current selling price.

  • If the item has sold out, the current selling price is considered 50% of the original price.
  • Store credit may be used toward any future purchase.

Gift returns

Gifts may be returned within the return period and will always receive:

  • Store credit or
  • An exchange for new merchandise

A gift receipt helps expedite the process.


Returns after 60 days

We cannot accept returns past 60 days. However, an exchange may be allowed only if:

  • The same exact item is currently in stock.
  • The customer wishes to swap for a different size or style of the same item.
  • A manager approves the exchange before processing.

Sale items

  • All sale items are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.
  • Items marked with a red dot are final sale.
  • Promotional discounts (e.g., 20% off storewide, 12 Days of Christmas) may be returned at the price paid, as long as the customer has a receipt.

Promotional returns

  • Promotional purchases can be returned or exchanged.
  • Discounts only apply during the promotional dates and cannot be extended.
  • Customers may exchange the exact same item for a different size (e.g., clothing or Jellycat swaps).

Custom and personalized products

All custom or personalized orders are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.


Seasonal and holiday-specific returns

Seasonal merchandise (holiday-specific items) has a shorter return window:

  • Seasonal items returned after the holiday may only be refunded at the current selling price.
  • No seasonal returns may be accepted after 30 days.

Extended Christmas return window

For gifts purchased for the holiday season:

  • Items bought between October 1 – December 14 may be returned for store credit until January 10.
  • Merchandise must meet all general return requirements.

Defective items

We stand behind the quality of our products.

  • If an item is defective within 30 days, it may be returned or replaced for a full refund, with a receipt.
  • After 30 days, we will contact the brand to request a repair or replacement.
  • If a repair fee applies (after 30 days), we will notify the customer before proceeding.

Shipping returns

All returned items purchased online or requiring shipment:

  • Must meet standard return guidelines
  • Must be shipped back at the customer’s expense
  • Shipping fees are non-refundable
